As a Project Coordinator, María assists with the certification process for projects pursuing the LEED certification. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and a master’s degree in architecture from the Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. During her master’s program she was able to explore vernacular construction techniques and habitat dynamics in rural Colombia. In 2023 she published a paper based on her findings titled “Methodological Guide for the Study of Human Settlements in Rural Areas: Housing of Cultural Interest”. María is interested in organic design, holistic thinking, and research in innovation to prevent and mitigate environmental and adaptation issues. Outside of the office, María enjoys trying and learning new things, reading, spending time with family and friends, going on a walk, and mostly being in nature.
