As the Director of Energy at Sol and as head of Sol's office in Bilbao, Spain, Miriam coordinates the energy department and helps projects achieve various green certifications, including LEED, ENERGY STAR, and Passive House. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering in her native Spain, she came to University of Cincinnati for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Her Masters research included monitoring insulated historic buildings in Over-the-Rhine to verify their performance—expertise she now brings back to retrofit projects at Sol. Outside of work, Miriam is a triathlete in progress, enjoys basketball (she played at a semi-professional level in her native Spain), running, hiking, and any other reason to get out into nature. You might also find her cooking (when she can find the time), learning a new language, or enjoying a good book.
