Sol design + consulting Welcomes New Partners Nate Steeber and Carl Sterner

Since Sanyog Rathod founded Sol design + consulting in 2006, the firm has continued to grow and now operates from offices in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Bilbao, Spain. Now, Sol marks another milestone with the appointment of Vice Presidents Nate Steeber and Carl Sterner as partners.   
 

Steeber, LEED AP Homes and BD+C, WELL Performance Testing Agent, and NGBS Master Verifier, brings deep expertise in green building certification and program management. “I’m excited to continue to expand our work on high-impact projects while mentoring our growing team,” said Steeber. “My focus is on keeping up with constant changes in certifications, standards, and programs so our clients can confidently pursue the right solutions for their projects.” 

Sterner, an architect and sustainability strategist, leads architectural design on high-performance projects such as Passive House and Net Zero Energy buildings, as well as commercial certification work. “We take on select projects that let us explore emerging areas like resilience, electrification, and embodied carbon,” said Sterner. “These help us stay on the leading edge and ensure we bring the latest knowledge to all of our clients.” 

Together with Rathod, Steeber and Sterner have guided Sol through a period of rapid growth—adding 18 new team members, and doubling Sol’s Cincinnati office space since early 2024.
