Sol Presentation at USGBC Live

Sanyog Rathod and Carl Sterner presented on "Net Zero Solutions for a Regenerative Urban Core" at USGBC Live on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. The presentations explored how both existing buildings and new infill development within the existing urban core can contribute to a regenerative, resilient built environment.

Specifically, the session explored the challenges and opportunities associated with existing buildings and neighborhoods through the lens of several projects that have grappled with these issues. Drawing on Sol’s decades of experience working at the intersection of historic preservation and sustainability, we showed how historic buildings and infill projects can generate more energy than they consume, manage water and stormwater sustainably, reduce the embodied carbon of building materials, and take advantage of the natural advantages of historic neighborhoods—considering both current technologies and innovative approaches on the horizon.
