Step Inside Passive House Innovation: A Tour of Spring Green Townhomes

Sol design + consulting, in partnership with AIA Cincinnati, guides the Spring Green Townhomes Passive House Tour, showcasing two LEED Platinum-targeted, near-Passive House townhomes located in the Pendleton neighborhood of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine district.  Led by Sanyog Rathod, AIA, CPHC, LEED AP, and Carl Sterner, AIA, this tour provides an overview of several key Passive House features, including the project’s approach to airtightness, insulation strategy for the walls and roof, elimination of thermal bridges, and Energy Recovery Ventilation.

During the tour, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the design process that shaped these innovative homes and how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into residential architecture. The tour will also explore how Passive House and LEED Platinum principles can reduce operational costs, improve resilience, and align with broader goals for climate action and sustainable urban development.
