WELL Certification Water Test

Nate Steeber, Director of Certifications, tests the water at the Sol desing + consulting Cincinnati office for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in accordance with the WELL Building Standard protocol. He compares our office drinking water to Cincinnati tap water.

Sol's Cincinnati office was recently awarded LEED for Homes Midrise Platinum certification for the historic renovation of the building.

A minor correction to the video:

The information regarding TDS is based on information provided by TAPP Water (tappwater.co). The information regarding Los Angeles and Stockholm were not portrayed accurately in the video. The TDS for Los Angeles varies between 200-600 mg/l. (mg/l is also referred to as ppm, or parts per million. The TDS for Stockholm varies between 73 to 93 mg/l.

According to the World Health Organization, the following have been determined as the preferable level of TDS in water (mg/l):

  • Less than 300: Excellent
  • 300 – 600: Good
  • 600 – 900: Fair
  • 900 – 1,200: Poor
  • Above 1,200: Unacceptable
