TREO APARTMENTS

Elevating Sustainable Living.

Choosing the best path for green building certification.

Problem

TREO reflects Ohio City and Tremont's artistic character, blending luxurious spaces with sustainable design. The project focuses on improving residents' lives and setting a standard for urban growth in Cleveland.

TREO's goal was to incorporate sustainability through Cleveland's property tax abatement program. Choosing the optimal green building certification for the market-rate new construction involved several challenges and careful planning. Each certification system has unique criteria, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor air quality. The choice depended on which system fit TREO’s size, location, and design goals.

Solution

A Single Source

We provided all services necessary to reliably achieve green building certification, from design-phase sustainability consulting services to construction-phase testing, verification, and rater services. We provided energy modeling, evaluation of assemblies, and detailing.

Green Building Partners

We seamlessly integrated our team into the design and construction process. We took a proactive approach by charting an optimal course to NGBS certification. Our Testing and Verification team provided support every step of the way and helped resolve all issues that arose.

Eco-Economic Strategy

The project’s sustainability goals were carefully aligned with the most suitable certification program. Upfront costs for green strategies were evaluated alongside projected energy and water savings. Early planning achieved a balance between environmental impact and economic value.
